Synthecaster offers a unique blend of guitar and keyboard elements in a sophisticated polyphonic instrument designed to cater to a diverse range of playing styles and sound possibilities. The instrument is well-suited for technical playing techniques such as shredding and intricate chord formations, and doubles as a versatile MIDI controller. The recent addition of Motion Modulation enhances the expressive capabilities of Synthecaster even further.

• The keyboard layout resembles string-like rows, traditionally tuned in perfect fourths.
• Sliding across keys within a row achieves legato sliding or portamento gliding between notes.
• Vertical key sliding bends the pitch accordingly.
• Multiple notes can be played simultaneously on the same row.
• The keyboard spans over 6 octaves, with the potential for expanded range through oscillator tuning.
• Each row can be tuned individually, and specific scales can be highlighted for reference.

The innovative Motion Modulation feature introduces a dynamic twist to the synth parameters:

• Modifiable slider-based synth parameters annotated with blue or green text.
• Parameters susceptible to modulation via device roll or pitch movements.
• Device tilt alters parameter values from their base setting to minimum or maximum states based on the modulation amount, tilt direction, and modulation direction.

Synthecaster derives its rich audio output from a robust polyphonic synth engine, encompassing various customizable components:

• Dual oscillators with independent tuning capabilities.
• Filter with adjustable envelope sweeping.
• Amplifier ADSR envelope for precise envelope control.
• Diverse distortion options including soft clip, hard clip, bitcrush, and downsampling effects.
• LFO assignable to amplitude, filter cutoff, or oscillator tuning for enhanced modulation.
• Stereo flanger, chorus, and delay effects for spatial audio manipulation.
• Extensive library of over 55 preset synth sounds accompanied by 7 motion presets.
• Seamless preset creation and sharing capabilities through AirDrop or email services.

In addition to its audio capabilities, Synthecaster facilitates Core MIDI compatibility as a MIDI controller:

• In Multi Channel mode, MIDI messages are broadcasted in OMNI mode with each MIDI channel representing a distinct synth voice (channels 1-7 on iPad, 1-5 on iPhone).
• To optimize polyphonic expressiveness akin to Synthecaster's design, assign individual instrument voices to each channel.

The instrument supports various MIDI messages including note events, pitch wheel adjustments, and polyphonic legato ties. Compatible with popular music apps like Animoog and ThumbJam, Synthecaster ensures seamless integration into existing setups.
